The proposed Embankment will be laid on a Bed of Concrete and will be formed of Material excavated from the inside of the Reservoir, carried by Coolies in Baskets and rammed in 12 in: pouts Paving to bed Layers. The puddle Wall will be formed of Canton River Muds, an excellent Material for the purpose, it will be protected by 2000 Cubic ft. of decomposed Granite and stone also rammed in Layers. The seaside slope, Syphon, and top of the Embankment will be faced with Granite in 12" courses laid in Cement and pointed with salt.
